Hybrid K04 - how much power?
« on: October 01, 2010, 04:12:45 pm »
Well I can tell you exactly:-

404bhp! and 387lbft.

This is on the same style dyno, with the same software that my old car used to go on and got 372bhp on normal fuel. So, an increase of approximately 32bhp over the normal K04. Statllers own car.
Golf R gone.

It's been tweaked a little on the map since then too. Craigs car is also in the 400+bhp club on a hybrid too. Damn, sold my car too early :sad1:

400 horses, I remember a few years back when to get over 300 on the old 1.8T KO4 was what people where aiming for.

So who makes/modifies the KO4 to hybrid and how much?

Sounds like a better option than say APR Stage 3? Financially?

Does it fit the standard Manifold/Housing?

Should I be looking at another section of the forum? :scared:

I haven't looked into pricing, but these are the steps Statllers used (they have 2 hybrid K04 Edition 30 cars - one DSG and one manual)

K04 goes off to be hybridised - needs to be a "good" K04 turbo with little or no play in the compressor wheel shaft
GIAC hybrid file
RS4 injectors
VF intake - file is tuned specifically to use the VF intake diameter
Uprated "in-tank" pump.

Normal stage 2+ bolt-ons like turbo-back exhaust uprated and HPFP - an uprated intercooler would also help keep those pesky intake temps down.

You'd have to phone Steve Jr at Statllers to get an accurate pricing - I'd just be guessing. :happy2:

reliabilty of a hybrid?????  i was wandering about this awhile ago.  jabbaluke hasnt been on fo a fair bit with news on his yet.

no news is normally bad news so i presumed both hybrids were no good.

could you get steve @ stadtlers to post up graphs of before and after prefereably on the same dyno if they had them so we can see the power crves and how they have changed
