K03 limits???
« on: October 01, 2010, 09:44:21 pm »
hey people just wanting to know what the limits of a GTI k03 are??? i know its being done but what is needed to take it up to, and a touch over 300 bhp?? thats my aim for now.... so far iv got fitted a forge inatke, uprated DV and twintercooler im saveing for a blueflame TB exhaust then HPFP. with the TB exhaust is it worth getting the complete de-cat or is it just better getting the sport cat??
Whats next after that as once its all fitted i shall be seeking the best re-map
Any comments appreciated
Thanks

if you want 300 or over in a k03 gti you will need a differant turbo, id say high 280s is the absolute max in a k03 and for that i reccon you will need new turbo hoses, decat full exhaust, CAI, intercooler, HPFP, uprated DV and stage 2+ fuel pump map which will cost ya about 3k+ :jumping:

^ What he said really.

A Stage 2 car is realistically only going to make in the 250-260 range. Sometimes you get cars making a bit more, sometimes you get cars making a bit less.

I'd say 270-280 is the very very max.

stage 1 235-245hp

stage 2(exhaust/intake) >260Hp

stage 2+ (exhaust, intake, HPFP, intercooler, pipework) >280Hp

i truly reckon that with water methanol injection and a custom remap with all the above mods that you could touch 300Hp.

they struggle at the peak, but you will find that these cars make very good plateaus of power from 4500 onwards.  its not all about peak figures at the end of the day.

cold air intake.

the top 3 intakes are probably the evoms, ITG maxogen and forge twintake.

best intercooler for your money will be either the S3 IC, forge twintercooler or THS intercooler.

exhausts, you want to look into pipewerx, blueflame and miltek

High pressure fuel pump(HPFP) cheapest option is th autotech.  apr is twice the price and IMO not worth the extra.

remap wise, the top contenders on here are revo, but APR, jabba, giac and shark performance are all worth a punt as well

I'm pretty sure someone on here has a k03 with a Dyno Dynamics RR printout showing over 300bhp...
