Help with auto wipers

Hi after help before i book car into dealership. My friend hit his head on my roof lining/rear view mirror, the plastic clip behind the mirror leading into the roof lining has broken and the tube that runs through feels broke in the middle, and the auto wipers are not working what does the tube house any help would be much appriciated. thanks

We could ask how they managed to do that... But I wont...  :grin:

The rain/light sensor is at the front of the mirror housing (if you look at the windscreen from the outside you will see the sensors).

So I would imagine it's either been knocked out of place or will need a replacement mirror housing.

If it's further up, the 'tube' as you say, sounds like the electical wiring for the auto light/rain sensor, not sure if this is something you can buy seperately - will wait for someone who knows more to post on this thread...

Ok, so i'm only going by the system which we use at my work (Rolls Royce Motor Cars) and the rain sensors are simply just a control module which is generally glued to the screen, This is then just plugged into the cars wiring. The "Tube" i think is just a nice way of hiding the wires as we use a similar technique on the Phantom and the new Ghost.

My thoughts would be to try and remove the covers (which should only be clipped together) and then check the connections as it may have just come loose.

If all else fails then Mr VW will be able to sort it!
