« on: September 30, 2010, 02:12:48 pm »
Hello all.

just interested to find out what people think of the AMD remap if they are running it?
and what sort of power gains did they get? preferably on ko3 cars
thanks

I have recently(31/08/10) had an AMD stage 2 map done on my 2006 mk5 GTI DSG which is fitted with Milltek TBE, Carbonio, Pipercross panel filter and runs on Vpower. It made 280 bhp on their rollers before heatsink, 277 bhp on 2nd run.

On AMD stage 1 with std exhaust system and Pipercross panel filter and running on Vpower it made 257 bhp.

My dyno graphs for stage 1 and 2 are in the Ultimate Dyno Graph thread in the Performance Modifications section.

from what i gather they are very good indeed, im yet to hear about any issues with them as well which is always good news.

dont think they have been that busy with the TFSi engine as they were with the 1.8T, REVO seem to have taken the monopoly on that.

However until i see an AMD car on independant rollers, im a little dubious that their figures get massaged slightly when on his rollers.

My reasoning behind that was after driving shaun hollambys(guy who runs AMD) vRS which had stage 2 AMD map on it with an alleged 277hp.  that it felt gutless compared to the bluefin stage 2 i was running on my vRS at  the time which dynod at below 260hp.  Id also add that i never rated the bluefin in k03 either in comparison to others which i have tried since

Any particular reason for being interested in AMD, ie price or location etc and are you aware of the multitude of good options available?

thanks for that Janner and Robert.
sounds like you have got good power figures Robert, it was seeing your dyno graph that made me consider an AMD remap.

im also only 2mins drive from the surrey branch of AMD so would be easy just to pop down the road too them.

yes im aware of the likes of revo, apr, bluefin etc
all the tunners seem to get pretty good reviews, just had not heard what AMD were like and as they are local could be worth a go.  :driver:

AMD also deal with revo as well so you have a choice if you go there.  the good thing with revo is there are alot o dealers around the UK as well so you'll never be short or to far from expertise

I have never been to the one in Surrey. How closely are the linked? Does AMD in Surrey have a rolling road?
