Earlier this year I bought a 2005 Gti which had an MFD2 satnav, armrest cd changer and hi-line display. The car is DSG, but didn't have a MFSW or paddles.
I have had fitted an RNS 510(version C on 2600 I think) and a Mk6 MFSW. I needed a later can gateway to prevent battery problems, and a mk6 cc lever to complete this update, although I can't change tracks/radio stations on the wheel. I'm not sure if this is possible!

The sound quality from the cd changer is now awful, and whilst I believe there is a fix for this, I decided to go the iPhone route as I can also record radio programmes to listen to in the car ( a bit like a cheap version of DAB

)
I've just bought an armrest MDI unit off Ebay and an iPod cable. What I would like to know is whether the existing cable from the RNS will work with the MDI or will I have to get a new one.
I have searched the forum, but can't find a definitive answer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
