Wheel Balancing Weights

Hi all, I was wondering if there is any reason for positioning wheel balancing weights on the inside of a rim, rather than the outer edge?

I've bought some satin black weights to replace the shiny silver ones my tyre fitter used on my black wheels, however on two wheels where he's had to use a lot of weights they're still going to be very obvious, so ideally I'd like to fit them right on the inside edge.

Is that OK?

the weights can be postioned on inside or out side depending on the alloy wheel,if i get well looked after alloys i put them on the inside

I have mine on the inside of the rim. If i didn't the brake caliper would knock them off when i am running my 17in TD's  :rolleye:

back in the old days if i remember inside and outside depended on whether it was a static or dynamic balance. But I am going back to the 80's :evilgrin:

I always ask for a dynamic wheel balance. does my tits in when you get to 80 and they get a wobble on as only one side has been balanced.

Sure, its ok for most toyotas and nissans on the road, but i like to know my 19's are done right. luckily, my tyre place see me coming and know what to expect! ;0

What do you guy's mean by the inside?  totally out of sight? I don't want to sound thick here but I thought they were all put on the inside nowadays?.... or do you guy's mean something else?

TC, where abouts are they on your TD's?

Well they're always going to be inside the spokes, but they can be flush to them, or on the very inside edge on the wheel.
