« on: October 12, 2010, 08:35:16 pm »
I have a new mk5, when going from 6th to 5th it takes a positive pressure to the rt to ensure 5th engages otherwise it would naturally go to 3rd is this normal ?

I think so , mine is the same , you get used to holding the gear lever towards the right to change down to 5th. I take it you havent had a 6 speed box before , like myself?

Cheers Guys,
Just moved from a diesel landrover with a gearbox with plenty of play. Six speed and petrol is a sign of mid life crisis :rolleye:
