shared roofs ?
« on: October 15, 2010, 08:15:14 pm »
Just wondering if anyone has lived in a flat where they had to go and collect money for a leaking shared roof. More importantly one of the neighbours isnt looking like they are going to pay and ive had to stump up £1500 up front for the repairs, what should my next step be ?

In Scotland if one of the neighbours doesn't pay for a communal repair where the fabric of the building was at risk, you can have a charge put on their property so that when they sell it you automatically get your money back - perhaps a similar arrangement exists in England?

Small claims court?

Try getting in touch with Shelter - they are pretty clued up on this sort of thing.
