The Trophy will out-handle 99% of other cars on a good twisty road. I went from a 182 to the GTI, the only thing which I didnt like was nothing really happens until 5000 rpm but  then all hell breaks loose lol  :happy2:

RS Tuning in Leeds will remap them so they have a "better" torque curve.

Just make sure, as said above, the dampers have been serviced, as they are around £2K for new ones if I recall  :surprised:

On a side note, 182's are going for £4000 now and are better spec'd than Trophys, Xenons Cruise Etc

If I can get a low mileage 182 with trophy seats I would but I think I'd want the cup pack...

The best Clio (Non Trophy) is a 182 with "cup packs", i.e. it has the cup suspension, spoiler, splitter, Xenons, half leather seats etc.

The "Cup" 182 is the cheap one with no extras and rubbish cloth seats, no Climate Control (often abit cheaper as they were cheaper to buy in the 1st place)

The Trophy seats were a very very very rare option on the 182 options list, they are Recaro Treadlines (about £500/600 to buy secondhand)

Hope this helps mate.  :happy2:

You'd be likely to get a 197 for Trophy money, too, so it'd be worth trying one of those as well. More room and a more grown up feel to the tin can mk2 cars.

Trophy is a cracking little car. I had mine for 4 years and loved every minute. Need to keep the revs high as previously said, but it will surprise a lot of cars on the b roads and the twistys!

Driving it always brought a smile to my face. There are better specced 182's out there but having driven a 182 cup and a Trophy there is a definate difference. Especially when you unpin the dampers in the Trophy.

Plenty of useful info found here. Nice bunch of guys over there too http://cliotrophy.co.uk/forum

the clio thing is complicated, best one for track is 172 cup, best for road trophy, best everyday as said above 182 with cup pack. rare with recaros though but few put them in after. sach refurb is about 500 quid, the trophys are ace, but the trick dampers are best suited to british b roads as its the damping that is so good and set up for that car. a 172 cup is more fun on track and with a couple of hundred quid spent on coils and brakes, mad fast :happy2:
