Just to let everyone know that I have never had an issue with re using any of those bolts.  Not even VW bother with new ones.

same torque settings too? and would you use threadloc ? (I know some people shy away as it changes the torque settings)

I wouldnt worry about the threadloc.  Just set to VW specs and you should be fine.

I know mate, but I just haven't had the time.  I'd only just finished work when I phoned you earlier.  Busy busy lately at work.

P.S.I told you I aint no good at drag races anyhow, I'm sure these wouldn't of helped me out lol.  Now on the track, that's a different matter  :P

TBH I haven't really looked into doing them yet as I just haven't had the chance.  Does much need removing or anything?  Did you just support the engine from underneathe then change the mount's?

Any pointer's you can give would be appreciated  :happy2:

THe below is all off the top of my head could be slightly wrong: -

Tools Needs: -

19, 13 & 10mm Sockets
16mm deep Socket
Couple of medium and long extension bars
T20 Torx Screwdriver
Jack and a wooden block to support the engine
Also found a magnetic pick up tool very helpful  :grin:

On the drivers side mount I removed the bolts/screws for the washer filler neck, charcoal cannister and expansion tank, then unbolted the side support bracket. Then you can get at the mount, that's unbolted by removing the2 x 16mm bolts and 2 x 19mm bolts.

This side done: -



For the passenger side mount, the battery and battery tray (3 x 13mm bolts) need to be removed, then unclip the wiring loom tray the rest on top of the mount. Then unbolt the three 19mm bolts on the engine side of the mount and the 4 x 19mm.

Maybe a silly question, but do you need to support the engine or because your only changing one at a time you don't need too?

Yes you do need to as the lower mount cant support the weight.

Steve, you say use a deep 19mm socket, but dont you mean a deep 18mm?
