Fitted the plate LEDs. Also ordered a set of m-tecs for the puddle lights to match my sidelights.

looks great and now alls you guys need to do is your interior bulbs  :P  :signLOL:

How do you get the interior bulbs out?
I want this look in my car!
Did the sidelights today - took about 5 mins and looks absolutely brilliant - though haven't worked out how to post yet! plus my car is filthy...

Anyway, now I want to do the interior lights - but I have a query with regards to the fade out feature - does fitting LEDS romove this - I assume it does as they will switch off once there is a slight voltage drop.

Also: what is the shopping list for the interior bulbs - how many and what types?

Thank you

Mark

1x  36mm festoon bulb
plus the 2 vanity mirror bulbs, but im not sure on type as i havent done mine

Okay guys, don't get me wrong - I love LED's, but why on a number plate?

The only reason I can think of is to highlight a private plate, but why light up a gobblygook plate?

Are the boot and the glovebox both normal festoon ones?
OI assume the only ones that are canbus in the interior are the footwell ones in the front?

I think it makes the car look that little bit more modern.  im sure all new bmw's come with them standard now.

Here's what they all are:

501's for sidelights (2), footwells (2), ceiling (5), glovebox (1)

Festoons for ceiling (1), vanity mirrors (2), boot (1) and number plate (2)

With the boot the bulb isn't long enough but a folded up piece of foil works

I fitted puddles no problem, but trying to do foot wells seems a nightmare!

They didn't pop out with screwdriver so I removed the trim to get at them from above but found what seems like a sealed plastic lens and pressed metal unit?

Its an 06 plate so cannot be different to what you guys have already done - am I missing something?

Any ideas welcomed,,,

You'll see some metal tabs holding the plastic in place. You have to carefully prise the open then wiggle the lens free. It's fairly simple, just don't rush as you need to put it back together and bend the tabs back. From memory there's just 2 at each end  :happy2:
