What is the et range for mk5 Gti rims
« on: October 15, 2010, 10:09:59 pm »
Just a question,

What is the et range for alloys on the mk5 Gti?

Standard et is 51, I remember that anything from 45 - 51 is okay.

Been looking at a set of 71/2 x 17 Merc alloys with an et35, would these fit without any issues.

Looking at these for a winter set to put winter spec tyres on.

Any help, gatefully received.

The ET is the distance of the wheel face, from the centre of the wheel. Those wheels you mention are the same size as a monza with 16 mil more poke. This should be fine if your car is  not to low and as long as the wheels are not really really heavy. You just need to check the PCD ie the bolt pattern the the Mk 5 golf has a PDC of 112.  :happy2:

Thanks TC,

A set of Merc alloys 71/2x17 with et 35 and pcd of 5x112.

Would I need a spiget for the inner bore, VW is 57.1mm if I'm right.

Can always measure the set or try them on for fit.

Not sure on the inner bore, but its no big deal using spigots, i have plastic ones with my Td's You just need to remember to make sure they come off with the wheel when you change them. Or like me you will be dumbfounded, as to why you cant get your other wheels to fit.
