Got my spare alloys refurbed
« on: October 19, 2010, 04:32:04 pm »
Well as some of you may know i got myself a new set of OEM Scirocco R alloys , i have now took them to the wheelspecialist in Nottingham and had them recolored in Charcoal anthracite, i have to say i am very impressed with both the service and finish , they turn them around in one day, and the finish is superb, nice flake to the finish and a lovely wet deep gloss which is exactly what i asked for  :happy2: , they even paint the wheel weights to match :thumb:.
I was tempted to have them done black but thought it too extreme, although i might just get my winter wheel done in this colour.

Anyway if your in the Nottingham area and want a refurb i cant recommend Mark at Nottingham WS enough  :happy2:

And just up against the car to give me an idea

please note the marks on the alloy are just the gunk they mount the tyres with  :happy2:

They look excellent, there will also be a lot with gloss black alloys about since they introduced the black optic pack or whatever they call it so this way you will stand out a bit!

5Dr Black GTI, DSG, Leather, Xenons. Retrofitted - Cruise, RNS 510, MFSW, Armrest, Skoda BT, 6cd changer, Monza II's, VW speaker upgrade kit, Lux pack, High-line, new CAN gateway, Polar FIS info display, R32 tinted rear lights, RVC

To Come...NQSBBK, highline CCM.

There isnt an OEM option for black alloys on the Scirocco, but your right alot of people will go that route

Oh yeah sorry, my bad I thought it would be possible to add the gloss black extras to the R!  As you say think alot will try and emulate the gloss black look (probably copying Greeners wheels  )

No for some reason there isnt a black option for R alloys, you can have the normal scirocco wheels of course in black, plus in Europe they have a motorsport version in black but i tried and you cant get them yet

They look gorgeous   but you say they painted the wheel weights too? Not at the same time as the wheels I hope. If so what happens when you come to change tyres and need rebalancing?

love the colour certainly gives the car a more aggressive look but keeps the detail, big thumbs up from me  :notworthy:

get them slapped on along with some H&R springs and it will look spot on  :popcornsoda:

no doubt lost on 99% of rocco owners out there, talk about an apathetic bunch  :fighting:

Very nice, very nice indeed.  Glad to see they did not turn out blue.   Where did you get the wheels from?  And how much?

Indeed they would, I was looking at mine the other day with a thin film of brake dust, and thought yes!  Just right!
