Renault Specialists in Birmingham
« on: October 25, 2010, 03:02:42 pm »
Hi,

Does anyone know any Renault or French car specialists in Birmingham?
My girlfriend has some problems with her megane and no mechanic seems to know what it could be

Basically, the engine management light flashes and the engine judders...

Any help welcome.

Thanks  :happy2:

Erm... I think I'm being extremely thick here but I can't understand what you said!
I've tried the site but it's not working properly on my phone, will have another go when I turn the PC on.
BTW, it's only a 1.6vvti 2003 plate.

if you put some decent fuel in, you take it out and redline it a few times, cleans out the cat, could work, does it just do short journeys? sorry for not making sence :signLOL:

Yep, just short journeys. Usually only commute.
I will ask her to try it. Cheers  :happy2:

How old is the Megane - and petrol or diesel?

The petrols have issues with the throttle valve butterfly gumming up - and the wank cleaning fluid which Reno officially suply isn't actually suitable (rots rubber seals)!

Diesels have turbo issues and EGR issues.

T_T it's a 2003 1.6 petrol engine. One mechanic said it could be the throttle body but wasn't sure.
