Thanks blue,

Those handles are not worth much to be honest. We have high security handles, but it's the bolts that hold them on that snap so it doesn't take THAT much longer to get past these than a regular handle.

I think the solution is just to get every securty device available so that each one slows them down a little and overall they give up
This may be a very silly question  , but if the door is deadlocked with pins in the frame when locked, and they do the locks in this way, can they get in?
Once the lock cylinder is snapped and the outside half falls out (can be done in 30s) then it only takes one push of a screwdriver in the right place to unlock the whole door, deadlocked or not

^^^Not everyone has access to these.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there Joe. The bif f*ck off scary dog is on the shopping list. That's about the only thing these criminals are scared of. A big vicious b*stard with fangs like razors and muscles like Arnie's is what's required.

I'm trying to organise an extension at the moment, so I'll have to factor in somewhere for a guard dog to live  :happy2:

Cylinder bumping has been a big problem for a few years now, I work for a lock manufacturer and we try to specify anti bump cylinders to customers as often as possible. Too many oem upvc door suppliers use cheap Chinese or Eastern European cylinders in their doors which can be bumped in seconds by a pro. Most cylinders that are anti bump are actually kitemarked on the face of them now so you can identify their security level. It's defo worthwhile fitting additional security door bolts etc and if possible a house alarm with a chime connected to the door sensor. Ours is set to it's highest volume so you can hear the front door open from anywhere in the house/back garden. A guy over the road from us had his cooper S stolen earlier this year, they had walked into his house on a Sunday afternoon while he was in the back garden, picked up his key and left. The guy thought he had misplaced his key and thought nothing of it until he woke up and the scum had been back and drove off in his car during the night! I take my keys to bed with me now, sad but safe!

Apparently some twats planned on stealing my car, a friend of a friend heard about it and a stop was put to it.

They  would never find my keys though, but im sure they would be consoled in taking the new merc we have  :fighting: :fighting: :fighting:

Did mean to invest in these types of locks though. You would have thought it would be in the governements interest to force these upvc door manufacturers to fit better locks
