I've been looking for a while now but can't seem to find anything better than the Turini's or BBS Air series which don't fit the Mk5

Have a look on http://www.tirerack.com/ as you can sort by vehicle, and they show the weight of the wheels.

18" oz ultraleggera (weigh 8.5kgs each), excuse the snow
oz wheels are developed for use in race/rally situations so plenty strong enough.

Well now, it seems as a sales rep who is going to finish 30% 0ver target for this financial year, I'm going to get a bonus :rolleye: and it's already burning a whole in my pocket, and yes you should be ashamed of yourself leading people into shamless modification... :signLOL:

18x8 Speedline Turinis come in at 20.4kg with a 225/40 tyre. Sorry,I don't have a weight without a tyre.

Because of the offset/PCD you're pretty much looking at only a few types. OZ, Team Dynamics, BBS, Speedline with the first two being a bit lighter but the latter come with a bit more strength.  The TDs are superb value for money.

I'll pop a picture up of my car on them in a mo, they're just uploading.
Sideways yo!
