Door windows aren't hard to replace at all. So if smashing is called for then i'd go for this option.

Alternatively you could go in via the windscreen, they have a nasty habit of breaking when hit by flying debris and are not only more likely to be available same day but also some companies have a procedure to replace them with little outlay from yourself

This very same thing happened to my Brother In Law the VERY day he picked up his AMG320CLK convertible....he called the merc garage and they advised smashing the tail light and reaching in for his keys!

I cant imagine the fear in doing that especially on a brand new £46k car. lol. On the upside the merc garage replaced his light cluster for free...

Do not do this on the golf though the lens doesnt open up to the boot, if you break the lens you will only reach metal.

Would imagine its gotta be breaking a window  :surprised:

This is also why I never use the boot button, I just unlock the whole car.

Likewise.

What's thus about powering the sump plug etc? Sounds interesting/unnerving.

It is possible! But you still cannot gain entry so it no big worry!

I wouldn't be happy about my car sitting somewhere with the keys locked inside.
