Taking my Silver 06 GTi to sprayers tonight to have my black bits smoved and sprayed just checking what others have generally done about the lower part of the back bumper (the archie bit over the exhaust)

I've seen someone on here with a Red one that has had it Gloss Black which is what I'm favouring .. what have others done ? the whole lot same colour ? just left it as it is ie not smoved and black just masked off.

cheers

Silly question here, but would you have to inform your insurance company your colour coding the lower half bumpers on the GTI, etc?

Any changes to the car from when it left the factory needs to be declared. Hence, yes - body coloured bumpers/sills need to be declared.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

x2

I've got  reflex silver one also and was thinking of getting ot done.
My only concern is the costs and also the fact that it would all need flatting out - or do folk leave the plastic bobbly?

I paid £300 for mine, Front, side skirts and rear bumper.
The parts that require painting will be sanded down and then primered, but the garage should do that for you.
