Is my stance ok?
« on: February 14, 2009, 07:27:42 pm »
Just gathing opinion really, seems to have gone down quite well with my mates - what do you think?

Firstly, before anyone says "deck it" I can't, otherwise I won't get on the drive!! I reckon I can get about 10mm off it before I'm scraping - so before I go to the effort, does it actually need it? It's cornerweighted too, so it'll be in the same 'rake' as now... so saying back or front needs dropping individually  isn't possible.

Sorry about the poor light, but it's just for an idea.

Mike.

P.S. I've removed some as I need to edit the plate, so back soon.

Looks cool to me! Its amazing how much better the black bumpers work when the car is lowered!!

Would you say that cornerweighting is a necessity? I've been told by an experienced VAG tuner that it is not necessary on the GTI (I forget the reason for this)...

Perfect height. What did you use?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

It's not gospel, so long as you drop it the same height both ends to keep the car balanced it'll be ok - but for what it costs, it's deffo worth it though.

Some of you may have noticed they're JonnyC's old rims, and super clean they are too. I'd wanted some for an age and dropped very lucky...oh, and its on Eibach coils.

Thanks everyone!

I appreciate the reply

I think sometimes the impression is given you have to go that 110% - so long as something is done right, there's no need to over egg the pudding.

For a road hack, I wouldn't waste the money as you'll not see the benefit if the fitting has been done to a good standard in the first place.

I would drop it about 6-8mm front and rear, think it would be sat perfect then! Looks great mate, really does!

Very nice.. although the alloys look rubbish on the car - you should sell them to me

I just pm'd JonnyC to ask if he wanted to sell the Turinis to me, not knowing that you'd bought them a week ago  :ashamed: :embarrassed:
