Army driving, left, right, left, right
« on: November 03, 2010, 11:58:37 am »
Does anyone else's ED30 / GTI wander around badly at speeds over 50mph ?, obviously this is mainly motorway driving.  I'm constantly correcting the car as its going left ot right without any steering  input and on nice flat sections (not rutted up inside lanes).
Last night was as bad as its been, windy as hell too, and buffeting my car around made the issue 10x worse.  Bloody dangerous infact. :scared:
Tyres are Bridgestone RE050A 225 40 18 (dealer fitted) 3-4mm on em I'd guess.
Had: Edition 30, 3 Door Manual, Pearl Black, Cruise Control, IPod Prep, Arm Rest, Auto Lights and Wipers

Tyre pressures are fine mate.  Might have to take it to VW

it might be worth going to your local tyre/alignment shop first and saying the symptoms to them, see if they have any surgestions, n if not ring/take it to vw

+1 for full wheel alignment first.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I had this on another car - felt like driving in a cross wind. Get the geometry checked rather than a basic wheel alignment.
