why not get an 05 or 04 one, as you can put an older plate on your car just not a newer one :)

Looks like the combination of VW and 06 never happened.

VW05 did as there is one on here, has a Red theme too it.  Like Tom mentioned doesnt have to be an 06 plate, but I would go for 04 and earlier as otherwise people might think your car is older than it is

5Dr Black GTI, DSG, Leather, Xenons. Retrofitted - Cruise, RNS 510, MFSW, Armrest, Skoda BT, 6cd changer, Monza II's, VW speaker upgrade kit, Lux pack, High-line, new CAN gateway, Polar FIS info display, R32 tinted rear lights, RVC

To Come...NQSBBK, highline CCM.

If that were the case I would go for a really old one, like 02, as otherwise some people will look at your car, and not realise it to be a personalised plate, and just think you have an older car than you do.

.
When my car arrived from Wolfsburg in early August 2005 I had the option of 'VW05 RED' or 'VW06 RED' if I waited a few weeks until September, but...

1) - I'd already waited over 12 weeks and was hot for her.

2) - '05' can also be interpreted as Mk5.

Dig the 5's:

I wasn't sure at the time but now I'm really pleased I spent the £700 on my plate - It's brought me a lot of attention of the welcome kind and gives my car a strong identity.
