Well I have been waiting for the right car (ED 30 candy white, DSG, lowish mileage some extras if possible - although I know allot of people are in the same situation) to come along for quite some time now and I am begin to start to questioning how long I really want to hold out. I have test driven a similar car but did not have the spec I was after and was slightly over-priced in my book. I loved the DSG and was very impressed with the car overall, this in comparison to a MK5 GTI is drove a while back which was very disappointing and seemed lifeless to be honest.
I guess my question is, should I hold out for the right ED 30 or should I be looking elsewhere? I have recently found myself thinking I might fancy a MK6 GTI which would be much newer less mileage etc. But on the other hand the MK6 GTI does not have the same potential as the ED30 i.e. KO3 turbo etc. Also I can't help but think now that the MK6 is on the market it will not be long before MK5's really take the hit and I could potentially lose allot of money in a few years of ownership. I do realise however that the ED30 is a limited Ed and this will act in its favour.
Has anyone on here made the change from an ED30 to a MK6 GTI if so your comments would be greatly appreciated? If I had the funds I guess I would just get the new MK6 R in the above spec and be done with it, but to be honest £30K on a car is a scary
amount of money. Hope this doesn't sound like a rambled mess just looking for an outside opinion as I'm slightly confused. Any other suggestions are welcome.
Cheers
David
