Great car mate. Looks like you have the best of both worlds really with the LM's for show and the monza's for driving days. Easily changed if you have some decent jacks and tools as well. I might get some 17" fast road wheels with sticky tyres for mine at some stage and have the VZ's for show.

Well this evening I've been out murdering 99% of South Yorkshire's fly population.

I think it's safe to say, this is the first time I have actually driven my car as It was designed to be driven  :surprised:, with surprisingly good results given the current set up.

If anyone knows the roads from Balby to Wadsworth thru Tickhill to Oldcoats, and back thru Rossington they will know how awesome these roads are. (National Speed limit, awesomely windy, perfectly smoothish B roads)

The 17" Alloys make such a massive, massive difference, despite the poor tyres. It is honestly like having a new car. The AP coilovers, which I was considering swapping for some KWs were flawless and the S3 brakes put up with some major abuse, not fading at all.

Dave's (PDT) stage2 remap allows you to absolutely tear up the road, whilst allowing smooth acceleration all through the rev range.

I'm not sure why I'm writting this, because all I have done is driven my car. But I'd certainly reccommend taking advantage of the good weather and get out there!  :signLOL: :driver:

So have you any plans to put decent rubber on the 17s?

I certainly do! In the dry, they cope well and give good signs when they will let go.

In the wet, they should be illegal, despite nearly having full tread.

Not sure what tyres to go for. I've always liked Eagle F1s but I personally found the wear rate terrible.

Hm. Can't quite remember the how different they would be as I had the big ass LM's in-between. I imagine the 17s will be similar, if not slightly better with overall feel.

One big difference I noticed with the large tyres on the 17s (225/45/17) it feels alot smoother

You went so fast the plate fell off....must have been all them flies.

BTW I've seen Nick's car at PDT, so well aware he runs 'sans fronto platte'.

In a similar situation to Rich now! Still stuck on which colour. Thinking either a nice bright silver or anthracite. Hmmmmmmm.

Also still having hub troubles. Turns out that rebore-ing hubs isn't ideal. So guess I do need 2 more :(

White wheels look good on a red car :-)
