Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas
« on: November 04, 2010, 07:16:31 pm »
Hi All, For anyone who's running with these tyres or had them in the past. What pressure did you have these tyres at? Did you stick with whats on the fuel cap or did you go with what Vredestein state (44psi front 49psi rear)?

Trying to decide what to run mine at....any help much appreciated.

Dont no what size u've got but mine are 235 35 19, i run 32psi all round and seems ok.

I dint realise they where recomended to be between 40 and 50, this seems a bit high/hard, should imagine the ride would be really hard and bumpy.

Just a case of trying it i suppose, any size 17,18,19 personally i would put 32psi. But would like to hear if people do different.

The recommended pressure is 34-36. It can affect handling quite a lot if you under inflate.

I'm getting two of these fitted tomorrow, looking forward to having some front end grip again!

I'll ask the fitter tomorrow. But I was planning on keeping mine at 34 all round. If I run two vred's and two conti's are the vred's still recommended to run at a slightly higher psi?

I have 18's on mine.  I'll try the 32 psi as I have them on the vredestiein recommended psi at the moment but it feels quite loose/skitish.

These are what are on the www.vredestein.co.uk when you select vw golf mkv gti:

Ultrac Sessanta     225/40 ZR 18 92 Y XL      44 PSI     49 PSI
Ultrac Sessanta    225/45 ZR 17 94 Y XL     44 PSI    49 PSI

Will be interested to hear what the fitters opinion is.

Just checked their website and it says i should be running the Wintrac Xtremes on the MK6 at 44psi on the front and 49psi on the rears.  might give it a try over the weekend and see how it feels.

Vredestein requires a higher psi, any decent tyre fitter used to the brand knows they require a higher psi.

Exactly why? Have heard it is something to do with tyre compound and construction, but follow their guide, again they designed the tyre and know what pressure to use.

It's better to have Raced once in your life than be a Spectator for all of it.
