I got one of these not long ago..

Screwfix reversible torque wrench

and one of these..

Nylon covered socket

Both do the job of wheel fitting/removal fine! :happy2:

I bought a halfrauds professional torque wrench, nylon socket and a breaker bar.

Remember to reset the torque to zero after use.

Is that just a safety precaution?  Mine didn't mention anything about that..  :confused:  The Screwfix one just has a graduated scale on it and as you tighten the handle it 'moves up' till you get to the required setting, and then you lock it.  Does for the occasional wheel change - the Halfords one is obviously more 'industrial'.

I use a Halfords one for wheel torques and I have two different snap on wrenches for engine building.  Get a halfords trade card and then tools are cheaper.

I have 2 Teng Torque wrenches.

One in a 1/4" drive and one in 1/2" drive.  The smaller one was ideal for smaller fasteners on my old Ducati SPS.

Screwfix had a deal a while ago on them.

Just bought the nylon socket. Thanks for that PND hopefully that will keep my td'd from getting chipped.  :happy2:

ive got the screw fix one too, i think it cost me about £12 in there sale at the time.  its great for what i need it for

I'm pretty sure the Torque is adjusted by tensioning a spring inside the tool, So yes, best practise is to wind the tension back off after you have used a Torque Wrench.  It'll keep it more accurate for longer  :happy2:

Also, you IDEALLY shouldn't use a torque wrench for undoing bolt's, that's where a breaker bar would be better.

I need to get myself one of those Nylon covered socket's too. Cheers.SS

I got a breaker and nylon bolt set from machine mart, just wanting a new torque wrench as i am not sure my old one is working at all !!
