rear plate bulbs
« on: November 05, 2010, 11:15:02 am »
One of my rear no. plate bulbs has failed and I was thinking of replacing it with LEDs as a subtle upgrade.

What is the thinking about this as a mod - is it total toilet - or does it look good?
I saw a new BMW with led plate lights (as standard now) and the white liught looked so much better than the off white normal bulb light.

On another note - what type of bulb are the plate lights?

I got some of these (and so did a few others I think!)..

eBay rear numberplate LEDs

Work a treat!  :happy2:  You can get cheaper ones, but whether they'll work as well, who knows?!

Takes 2 mins to swap them over.  See this thread..

I got them from f1autoparts as well. Arrived the day after I ordered them.

They look good IMO. Car passed it's MOT with them fitted a few days later, so no worries there either  :happy2:

'57 DSG GTI alas now gone, but not forgotten....
Now motorway cruising in a 61 Mondeo Titanium X Sport 2.2 TDCi. 500+ miles to a tankful and bucketloads of torque :O Ok, it's not a GTI but it's fun... and that's what counts ;)
