Retrofitting cruise control
« on: November 05, 2010, 06:16:11 pm »
Will the VW techs need to add code to my ECU? I don't want to lose the GIAC remap. Again.

TIA  :happy2:

IIRC only a software update 'reflash' will wipe your map, coding cruise control will be fine   :happy2:

Im sure its about £150 from the dealers but prices do vary.

If youve got vcds or know anyone with it, its easy to fit yourself. Probably get a stalk for £50- £60

A How-to, although for a Rocco, they are very similar.

Just to reiterate... you will need a torx 8 bit... so make sure you have one before your start!  :happy2:

It was a T9 in my car but as Richwig said there's no point starting if you dont have it.
