I Recommend APR  :chicken:

not wishing to go too far OT, but what is wrong with APR, Steve?

Absolutely nothing Dave, thats why i reccomend it. Gets Alot of praise from its customers.   :happy2:

Revo is too aggressive imo

Bluefin and APR are less aggressive and better suited if your not planning going no balls 2+

I wrongly took the post in the sarcastic sense given the  :chicken: suffix.  My bad.

Np  :happy2:

50 quid.

I'm sure Revo 1 code is the same for all too mate, just the settings BTF change things
i dont think Bluefin is much more is it ?

Not sure but I have read that a few people are unhappy when they go to 2 or 2+ with Bluefin?

Thats more than a question than a statement.

I think there has been some unhappiness on the ikkle K03 but for Ed 30 owners there has never been any unhappiness. The only thing I guess is that people want Bluefin to perform the same as Revo and it doesn't so there must be something wrong with it.

Yeah sorry for all the repitition, i think when you are new to the car and new to a forum there is so much to take in and consider before you part with your hard earned you need to gauge all of the cross section of opinion from you old timers who have been modding since the cradle

Reason i dont want to go too mad is that after stage one i wanted to maybe try and save up for an S3 sportback or Golf R in the next few years although whether i would depnds on how much fun the bluefin/revo ED30 was i guess..
Diamond Black Pearl Edition 30, still going strong but now back to Stg 1

Revo is set up for your car, on your car by a trained specialist. If you plan on further mods then Revo is far more flexible due to its adjustability. It can be ste to a standard spec map using a switchable unit or returned to fully stock map by any revo dealer. I have never had a map switch back to stock after a battery disconnect on any of my customers or my cars, same for the cruise control.

....I have had Revo for several years now on my 06-build 05-plate Mk5 GTI and it has always reset itself to a 'stock' map every time my battery has been disconnected (lots of times). It's not a problem as far as I'm concerned.
So when this does happen I'm guessing you have to go back to your revo dealer for it to be reset? do they charge? or if you have the sps switch can you reset it manually?

....I have Revo's simple SP switch which only loads presets and doesn't fine-tune the B/T/F settings, so battery disconnects are not a problem. I can also ask a friend who is now a commercial van Revo agent to tweak my settings - He owes me favours so he does it for free.

^^^^
I forgot to say that I'm not sure Revo offer the SP switch any longer but only the switch which also allows changes to the B/T/F settings by the user. [< Needs checking]

I think you're correct RR. There's only the SPS switch now, which seems to be the Select Plus switch. They've discontinued the Select switch.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
