RED ED30 4,300mls
« on: November 07, 2010, 08:52:05 am »
Hi in Autotrader there is a ED30  3door  6 speed tornado red poverty spec ,     But so low miles I am tempted to have a look , I wanted CW or Grey .

Could i add MFSW also i think BT AND NAV  would be easy ,   Xenons and washers  proberbly could live with out washers  or do i just wait for the Grey to appear thats my first choice , have a red one at home with 13k miles

Xenons are a PITA if you retrofit the whole thing (lights, autolevellers, washers).

MFSW is easier if it's a DSG car.

BT and Satnav are relatively easy.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

It's a while since I've looked at ED30 prices, but late ones seemed to have dropped in price quite a bit.  This seems quite cheap to me, so must be worth a look at that mileage.  I've got a CW 08 with 5,000 miles, but I would want quite a bit more that that, so maybe I'll be keeping it!

I'm fairly sure from th photos that this car has xenon headlights already fitted, if it's the same car I'm thinking of that is:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201044372301277/sort/priceasc/usedcars/colour/red/model/golf/make/volkswagen/keywords/edition%2030/page/1/postcode/td69sd/radius/1500?logcode=p

It does seem a good deal, however it does not have an arm rest, mfsw or bluetooth/sat nav.

Look like xenons to me. Don't like the premium number to call and I'd be running the reg through every check I could at that price.

A car at that mileage would be snapped up by a VW dealer and sold at a higher price normally. It happened with an R32 I spotted once. A Ford dealer had a 58 reg with less than 9K miles on it up for 16 grand and it was gone within a few hours, only to reappear on a VW dealer website a couple of days later for £19K!

Simonp, the guy said they bought it from a VW dealer in Essex and was trying to validate with them if there was any service history on the car ,,I think it should have had a 12 month and a 24 month 2 yr service by now ,He said there are no receipts or stamps in the book. I think also where are the badges from the tail gate. Defo has xenons and mfsw

My reaction is to leave it well alone you know if it looks wrong it usuallly is .

Well, if a VW dealer was willing to let that low mileage car go for £13-14K to an independent, it's probably a wrong un!

Do you know if it is a uk dealer supplied car?

If it's one of the car supermarket imports they were up for £17995

There is a grey one in wimbledon audi with just over 10k miles, 5 door though and older I think
