well about 6 weeks ago i took mine to dealers to get this problem sorted, thought id get the ball rolling.
bloke measures the depth of the paint and to my horror the driver side wing has been resprayed,so they wouldnt touch that side.but would do the passenger side under warrenty.

well today i got a call saying its all going ahead under warranty!

RESULT!!! so gotta book it in to benfield silverlink after 7th jan

but the bad news is i still have to pay for the drivers side to be done. wont be getting it done as dealers tho cos will cost a fortune i imagine

....Not necessarily. Surely it's worth asking the dealer to cost it.

Also, much more importantly, you'll be much more likely to get a better paint match between your two wings if done in the same workshop at the same time,

Just to say i had my '55 Gti wings replaced a couple of weeks ago 100% under warrenty. but the car has full vw service history and i did make a call to vw customer services. garage were saying its a 50% contribution when i first went in.

Yep I did try, but I don't think I can send PMs...maybe due to my post count. Been a member for quite a while, but just don't generally post as I haven't bought a GTI yet! Was looking a while ago, then got distracted by other cars... now thinking of getting one as a daily runabout. However, a couple I've seen had rusty arches!
