If anyone is having problems I recommend they try VW Sevenoaks if they are close enough.

100% without an issue for me, and this was a year or so ago, way before they started chainging their minds!

That's a fantastic result. I'm hoping to get mine looked at this week or next. I hope I get some joy with mine. Out of interest which stealers did you go to?

I went to Barnards, Stowmarket - they get their bodywork done through Rackhams in Ipswich, picked it up today - looks good.

Nice one! Glad it's sorted. I'm getting mine sorted soon too. Just hope the stealers around my way are as helpful as yours!

To keep the trend of success going, I'd like to add that VW are accepting my claim on my 06 GT TDI and are replacing both wings. They've advised it would take around a week but in the meantime they have kindly leant me a Polo R 14 plate with just over 1000 miles on the clock!

For anyone interested, all correspondence has gone through VW in Northampton and the work/inspection was undertaken at the bodyshop in Leicester.

If anyone can help

I have some rust in certain places, but my car has different wheels and is lowered (non of these caused the rust)

So my question is, how did VW react to those with mods, like lowering and different wheels etc when going for a claim

Any help is appreciated

i had same problem, went to VW on tuesday, they said it should be covered 100% by goodwill. They took pictures, they didn't say anything about the car being lowered.

Managed to get the golf done under the warranty. Had small rust on both side skirts but the guy rubbed his hand over the arches and felt rust so he's doing them too. Not to mention, he said he's giving the car a full wash and polish. Couldn't have asked for anything better. 100% paid!
Aye, that wan.

Aww man I'm going to have get on this bandwagon. I've got rust appearing like between the side skirt and the front wings on my 08 edition 30. Water just seems to sit there and everything else.

I live in the teeside area I doubt they will even entertain the idea.

Hi Guys,

Has anyone had rust on the rear wheel arch done under warranty?  Have a bubble appearing and VW say No to corrosion warranty claim. Have got a case open with customer services but not holding out for much.

Booked mine in at Listers Coventry on friday. Will see what that say.

Any advice of what's the best thing to say if they only offer 50/50 etc?

Quick update from me.... Had 2 new wings replaced under warranty, dealer told me vw would cover a max of 75% which I accepted.  Work was completed and I paid the £225 owed.  Having read a few posts of varying successes I tried a different approach and tweeted vw customer services( first time ever tweeted) and to cut a long story short I received a call from vw letting me know a cheque will be in the post in 2 weeks for the full amount!!! Glad to hear that!

I'm taking mine into VW today for them to have a look at the rust bubbles appearing on both my front wheel arches. The guy instantly told me over the phone not to expect much, which sounds promising! lol

When you say you tweeted VW, did you send them a PM or did you just send them a general tweet?
Cheers
Craigh :)

I had both my 55 plate GTI wings replaced under warranty 3 days after l bought it. The car has full service history, but only 2 at VW, and lm the 3rd owner. Im happy to post details of who l spoke to at VW Customer Care and my claim reference number if people think it will help?

It might be an idea to put a list of members on here who have had successful claims along with relevant details to help other members to raise a case with VW if they get fobbed off?

Anyone else think this would be useful?

So did you just ring like a general vw customer care number and say the body has a 12 year warranty or whatever it is. And did they say go to your local vw dealer??
