Because of the offset and width of the Ch's (ET45 & 8J wide) I do very occasionally get a bit of rubbing on the rear wheel arch liner (But only when ive got 5 people in the car)  and it only happens if the road is stupidly bumpy! Its probably happened 5 times in 10,000 miles.  Its never rubbed when its just been me in the car.  You do need to do the front wheel arch screw mod though which stops the front from catching (Dead easy to do - took me about a minute each side)

You can have the camber adjusted to 2 degrees (2.15 degrees is the maximum allowed camber setup by VW for the rear tires). This way the tires should not rub anymore (I had ET40 and 8inch tires with no rubbing).  :drinking:

Thanks for that info Rex - think i'll have to look in to that  :happy2:

With the camber adjusted would it not make the tyres wear unevenly?  And did you notice any effects on the handling?

Cheers

I have 2 degrees and 30 min of negative camber on the front and 2 degrees of negative camber on the back. No problems with uneven tire wear so far (one year)! The benefits are great but that is mostly due to the front camber.
I would say there should be no uneven wear up to 2 degrees 15 minutes on the back (after all, it's VW's own specifications).

Got my winter Steelies & Winter Tyres fitted yesterday.

Very bizarre seeing the car on these and not the Ch's

It'll be getting a major clean this weekend before anyone says anything  :P

Very stealthy mate. I wanted steelies for mine but couldn't find any in the right fitment so ended up with the Imolas.

I did mention it needed a clean on the previous page  :P. Your not the only one though. Mine is filthy. Hoping to try out thr new pressure washer and foam lance over the weekend.

Looking good though mate. Roll on summer I say.

Thanks matto  :happy2:

Think they just need spacers and then they'd look ok.

If you need any cars to practice your new lance on, I'd be happy to donate mine! Ha ha  :P

A different colour like you've done is in order I think for next winter!

Did you find that your car was quite a bit lower once you'd fitted yours?

Another Small update!

One of my number plate lights had somehow managed to melt a hole through itself and packed up. So bought these as a replacement:

Led units - rather than just led bulbs in the oem holders.  Just need to see them when its dark now

Cool, thats good to know they last!

Did yours come with a metal box that also plugs in to the Led unit?  These did and work without them plugged in - im assuming its something to do with bulb errors. Did really want them rattling about behind the bumper!
