Monza valves
« on: November 16, 2010, 09:42:07 pm »
Has anyone got any idea if rubber valves can be used on monzas or will I need to purchase some new screw in metal valves from vw ?

Anyone got a part number or price by any chance?

Thanks Bryan

It depends on the wheel matey. The 'Hollow' BBS require the metal valves, the other do not.  :happy2:

Not sure mate they are away getting reconditioned just now, the refurber phoned to tell me he never had any metal valves and asked me to get some, I phoned vw and told them to order me a set and they said they would need my chassis number as there were two differant types ???

So I'm a bit confused, the wheel man said they were themetal screw in type,
what do you think Nathan ?

Well I doesn't sound like the wheel guy knows what he's dealing with. Did he take metal valves out? If so they are re-useable so I'm confused. Unless they are the Hollow BBS the normal rubber valves are the ones they need to fit!  :happy2:

Here's a question then monza 2 guru's

My Monza 2's are stamped as BBS's but they have rubber valves (and I'm sure it left the factory with rubber valves as it had the original tyres on the back till 4 months ago) & no ribbed lip like the metal valve monza's I've seen have. They are standard on my 07 golf from factory so are they bbS or Ronals....?!

BBS made two different types, the 'normal' and the 'hollow'  :happy2:

If you end up requiring the ones like ^^^^^ then let me know. I'm sure I have a set in the shed that you could take of my hands for nominal fee.

My local tyre fitters said that they could just fit rubber valves to them, is this dodgy ?
