They're SPL components. Looks like aluminium drivers.

Got them really cheap so I've got nothing to lose by putting them in - they can't be any worse than the VW OEM stuff  :grin:



I'd thought the same thing about audio wave transference between surfaces (I'm a pro Sound Engineer by trade :happy2: ). Will be interested to see how they sound.

I'm treating this more as an experiment to see what can actually be done - going to document it at the same time and put it in my Project build  :happy2:
Also got a load of acoustic foam and Dynamat to install too - busy weekend!!

Dano,

PM'd you re the facia. May I suggest you trace the rivet holes and  mark the trim rings with them, drill pilots and use hex headed screws from the back. Being pedantic I'd cover the screws in something to rust proof it.

A 1/4 inch square drive will work just fine to tighten them up. You'll probably need a proper fastener supplier to find the hex headed screws.

Here's what I mean by hex heads...
