Thinking of getting another Dog.
« on: November 19, 2010, 08:14:24 pm »
As per above, the recent Canine thread has made me realise how much I miss a partner in crime.

I have been looking at various breeds, would love another Black lab, however worried I would al;ways be comparing him to B, my old lad who passed on a few years ago.

My career is at a stage where i can accommodate another dog.

I have been looking at a Terrier, a chap at work has a Smooth Haired Fox terrier, and he is fantastic, such a character, but not yappy.

They are a bit taller than a normal terrier, and very stocky.

Anyone had a terrier, are they hard work?

.
If you want a dog with character and who'll make you laugh a lot, Dave, how about a Jack Russell?

Collie's are great too - Extremely obedient and trustworthy but the downside is stick throwing... It's endless!

Dave after encountering your dog a couple of times i am sure even a estate agent would not dare to describe your dog as cute.

You're quite welcome to come meet my 2 any time, Dave. They're Irish Terriers and the sort of size you'd like (knee high). They don't moult much, but terriers are quite hard work with regards to training, due to their willfulness. They also need a lot of socialisation with other dogs as young uns or they'll always be looking for a punch up otherwise!

IT's are real people dogs who love their humans and they'll follow you everywhere, even sitting outside the bog while you're sitting on it.  :signLOL:

Get a Westie!

According to Dog magazine, they're 'the best possible small dog on the market today'.
