I chose ITG but I would like to give this VF 3" a shot at the moment as I run the Extreme+ map - to be honest I do not think there will be any difference, but heck it is worth at least a test ;)

....If the Extreme+ map is GIAC then it would be an interesting comparison. But otherwise I'd expect that the ITG would deliver more power gains than the VF. Do you have access to a rolling-road to plot comparison graphs?

Yes it is the Giac map and I am running the ITG at the moment with great results and in general very happy... but according to the Giac guy here we may be able to push a little further with the full 3" CAI... I do not trust dynos that much but I do have a vbox and if there will be any noticeable gain it will tell me...

Dbilas for me, as it fitted on Friday. Mine was originally on a very clean grey Ed30 in Scotland.

Nicely quiet, which is what I wanted to achieve.
Didn't really want the intake chuffing and chirping like a Group B rally car myself..but I can really understand the pull of the loud intakes but wanted mine to be a bit more stealthy.

Just me being boring probably..

Neuspeed P-Flo for me. Cant fault it and its £200 cheaper than the ITG

Has changed the car's acceleration and it pulls so much stronger now. Getting used to the noise does take a while but it gets addictive ;)

PDT on here did some sort of Dbilias/pipercross hybrid intake which was a vast improvement over the stock dbilias and performed as well as the twintake.

Which intake offers, quiet good performance and fits without any damage in the engine bay ?

I'm guessing not very many !

....Carbonio plus an aftermarket flat panel in the oem engine cover box. But the performance gains are very minimal. On back-to-back same day dyno runs my Forge Twintake gained 15.5 bhp over my Carbonio. It depends what you want for your car: eye-candy or performance or both.

When you say "damage" I assume you mean without modification - None of the intake offerings from the established manufacturers do damage.

Unless you take off  the engine cover you won't get a very good air intake. The carbonio is a cosmetic intake imo.
Forge,ATG, BS,DBilas all make intakes that a lot of people on here use.
I have the Forge twintake, and love it, not much modding needed either, just need to remove the cover and then fit the bits in the spaces available.

....Fundamentally yes - The Carbonio merely makes the initial airflow more efficient and is cool carbon eye-candy. It's the panel filter itself which might help more but that still doesn't deliver heart-stopping performance. I ran an ITG panel filter with my Carbonio and might have gained 3 or 4 bhp and a miniscule bit of torque or throttle response - Who knows!?

The Forge Twintake ticks all the boxes for me too, Al  :happy2: - Just right in every respect.
