I'm not saying that no enthusiast will buy one Robin, because they obviously will and I look forward to seeing you in one with the customary middle finger out the window..  :signLOL:

....I wish! The trouble is that, as you say in your earlier post, by the time you've spec'd Recaro's and sunshine roof etc it'll cost £45k and does that £40k quoted so far include UK's feckin vat!?

I'm with you Robin although not in red for me.

....I might be prepared to compromise on the colour (silver?) if you'll go halves with me on buying one, Ian

I think I'd still want my 'VW05 RED' plate on it though for a laugh. Hang on, it would then have to be red.

Those wheels definitely have Vauxhall levels of tackiness!

....I assume you're referring to the red option wheel. Having seen the standard option wheel design on Stu's white S3 Sportback they look great imo.

Those red wheels might look quite good on a silver or white RS3 but I'd reserve judgement until seeing in the flesh.

Comes with a lap-timer as oem: Nice touch.

You will be able to get a decent specced one for 40k IMO for a new one that's already sitting at the dealers lot.

Just had revo loaded to mine sat and I have to say the performance is mind-blowing. Vbox figures say in gear acceleration is quicker than a 997 turbo, pre facelift GTR and r8 v10 and I can believe it. Now when I play against waynes stage 2 plus k1 I'm always left wondering whether he's trying or not anymore lol. Throw in some bends and the Cupra seriously gets left for dead. It's on a completely different level now with the map. If you have the means to get one just do it. Worth every penny once mapped.

Yes, the red rim just looks totally OTT to me. I like the standard option, it's just a shame I've seen them more on TDIs than S3s!

Posted by a good mate on another forum:

" Its only in Sportback and 7 speed S-Tronic. .... Its like they made Robin's perfect car but didn't think about anyone else "

At least someone (Audi) takes notice of what I want

The trouble is that as I further investigate the version I'd want the money stacks up more and more and I'd be foolish to raid my savings...  Hang on, unless I do a deal with The Devil and exit at 80yo.

What sort of options are available then?

I guess the buckets and glass roof will come at a hefty cost, but what else is available?

On Audi's website its got the standard spec on there now - it mentions the buckets seats as an optional extra but nothing else

http://www.audi.co.uk/new-cars/a3/rs3-sportback/specifications.html

Id imagine it would be simular to the options you get on the TTRS:

Sports Exhaust: £760
Bucket Seats £1950
Aluminium Styling Pack £650
Exclusive RS Multifunctional Wheel £760
Audi Magnetic Ride £1150
Optional 20" Wheels £2045

And thats not even all of them!

Might not be the same on the RS3 but i wouldnt of thought it was too far off

Why a S-Tronic only?  A portion of potential owners will be disappointed.

Why Sportback only? A Further portion of potential owners disappointed.

seems a bit daft really, no RS3 hatch, also the /controls are exactly the same as the GF's A3 Black edition TDI.

Manual S3 (non SB) and pennies in the Sherman for me.
