ESP light staying on
« on: November 27, 2010, 03:54:22 pm »
All;

My ESP light has just come on for no apparent reason.  The car was only serviced on Tuesday.

The traction control is not working, but the ABS is.  So i presume its not the dreaded ABS fault?  Does anyone have any idea?

Puzzling. One of my ABS sensors conked out and it lit everything up - ABS, ESP and TP were all lit up.

Are any of the lights red?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

No its just the ESP light that has come on, no other warning lights.  Strange that its just come on for no reason.

Its snowed here Friday so was easy to test what was and was not working.  The ABS is fine but the traction is not working at all :(

No point speculating on what is wrong, best to get your car scanned with Vag-com. and work from there

Oh dear, even with the ABS still working?

Well the car is booked into VW for Tuesday.  So will see what they say.

The G201 Fault
Is a fault with the Brake pressure sensor which is probably means a new pump

just hope that your fault is something else

Take a look at this thread, if you have to pay the repair cost yourself this is a better way than the VW bill:
