How to Unsubscribe?....
« on: November 30, 2010, 05:32:54 pm »
.
I know I can unsubscribe from receiving email notifications of replies in our threads, but is there a way to unsubscribe threads from the list "Show new replies to your posts" which is accessed via the upper right in the page header, please?

Because I once replied in a thread doesn't mean I want to continue being notified in that list. Chris Knott Insurance being the prime one I want to ditch at the moment.

Is it not one of the options under Notifications and Email section in your Profile?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Ah yes, I found it as a list of currently subscribed topics with tick boxes. I hadn't looked deep enough. Thanks, Jas  :happy2:

The trouble now is that I've got 75 pages of subscribed topics!  :surprised:

RR you can disable that option that subscribes you when you reply to a topic.

....Yes, thanks, I know. I'm talking about unsubscribing after replying a number of times. I would have to post some sort of reply to then be able to action that option.  :happy2:

I never get subscribed when I reply, I have to do it manually.

Is that what you meant?

....You've confused me now (some might say that confusing me isn't difficult).

A - Under "Profile" > Modify Profile > Notifications and Email, you have the option to tick the box "Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic". This results in notification automatically after every time you have posted a reply.

B - When replying in Preview there is the "Additional Options" drop down where you can manually each time, or not, select "Notify me of replies".

I'm not talking about either A or B but was asking how to unsubscribe threads from the list "Show new replies to your posts" which is accessed via the upper right in the page header.

I know what you mean, Robin. I've never seen the function on this forum but on SCN you get a drop down box at the top of each thread called "Thead Tools". Gives you "show printable version", "email this page" and "subscribe to this page" ("unsubscrive to this thread" if you are already subscribed)..

Does what it says on the tin, unsubscribes you to the thread so you get no notifications from the thread..

When was the last forum software update?
