England's Failed World Cup Bid...
« on: December 02, 2010, 06:28:28 pm »
Well deserved to Russia, or has Sepp Blatter's back pocket been well and truely filled?
So Putin was "very confident" and couldn't even be arsed to show up.. They have no stadia and it'll be about 9,000,000,000,000 miles between games even when they do build them. Apart from that, yeah ideal!  :stupid:
Or have we shot ourselves in the foot with our excellent media again?  :fighting:

The fact that Putin didnt even bother to turn up till it was over, which is a weird thing to do unless you know its in the bag dont ya think.

As you say Ben its 9 time zones between some venues which is madness :rolleye:

Its completely corrupt or is it just a coinsidence that Russia and Qatar are both full of oil rich billionaires who will do anything to get anything.

We did our best to shoot ourselves in the foot though with ridiculous media and tv reports. What was the point in that in the run up to the vote, although i dont think it made a difference.

Also qatar, its in a f*cking desert ffs, is it actually possible to play a match in 45 degree heat, also do Qatar actually have a team :stupid:

Also we technically only got 1 vote :signLOL:

It does mean we don't have to suffer an entire summer of pathetic false hope that we can repeat the glory of 66 blah blah blah.  And now we have to qualify and our overhyped no hopers can polish their egos by hammering part time players from San Marino 2-1.  on a more positive note they will be able to roll out the jetlag, long season, too hot etc etc excuses and they wont have to write any new ones when we crash out spectacularly from the last 8

LOL even more.  The poofs play 2 games a week for 6 months.  Train for 2 hours a day.   They should try being proper athletes earning f**k all and have to train hard not stand around chuckling with each other and Russia does (unlike us) have a climate with seasons which will mean they have a summer which will inevitably be too hot.

You'd be surprised.

Good riddance IMHO, we don't deserve to stage the event.  Until our football loving fraternity can learn to go and watch a game and then come away afterwards without feeling the need to beat the sh1t out of someone then we'll never be considered.

When was the last time you saw a brawl after an F1 race, or indeed most Rugby matches??

That's only because Alonso has a good security team

But i echo your comments mate. I am more than happy to go and watch a rugby match with the wife. However even though we are both Liverpool fans i would much rather sit at home and watch a footy game.

Qatar will be a dilemma for England fans. No alcohol so what excuse they going to use then.

Is Qatar definitely a dry state or is it similar to Dubai/UAE?

Funnily enough I never struggled to get a beer in Pakistan

IIRC You can get it in Hotels but it's not allowed in Public.

But you never know in 12 years time they may have changed their laws. The might even allow women to not wear veils and show their ankles
