Brembo Racing - OEM disk replacement
« on: December 02, 2010, 10:47:27 pm »
Rather than replace my OEM disks with more OEM disks from the dealers, I thought I would look online and I found these. They seem to have an anti corrosion composition too.

Does anyone have any experience of these? I wonder if the pads wear more quickly with these?

Cheers

How funny, I was looking at these exact ones the other day. I also would like to know if these are a suitable oem replacement disc, as they are very reasonably priced!

At that price, I'd just buy some and test them! They're cheaper than a pair of OEM disks from the dealer and since they're from a decent brand, they should be trouble free  :happy2:

I bought brembo HC (high carbon) discs for my 172 due to te facts they were cheaper and from brembo rather than Renault win win. They were a perfect fit, no issues at all. Will be buying them when/if needed for the golf.
Standard: Rear parking sensors, Parrot Bluetooth
Retro fitted: MFSW buttons, RCD510, Boot pop, Black Monza II, Xenons, Audi jacking points, open fog light grills.

I've got them, they are a good disc but I got them from GSF for £72.50+ vat so that's a good price. I also got Bosch pads from GSF to go with them.
The combo is excellent and give Good sharp braking when used for every day driving. You only have to apply light pressure to the breaks to get them to stop. I haven't really given them any grief yet so don't know how the pads would hold up.
I also had a set on my MK1 Octavia vrs with Black diamond pads and they weren't nearly as sharp. If you want good OEM style disc's go for these  :happy2:

As I said I have standard Bosch pads from GSF part number 642VG0800 (if you order check to make sure they are Bosch as they change) they cost £29.50+vat. They do bite very well and I quite often forget how well  :ashamed:
