Getting a golf - Quick question!
« on: December 04, 2010, 09:36:25 pm »
Will be trading in my 57 plate Twingo GT Turbo in on Monday hopefully for a Mk5 golf.

The advert reads Golf 2.0T GTi FSi is this correct? It's a 2.0l turbo GTi with FSi? All a little confusing!

Thanks!

Just something tells me it's not a GTi? My insurance is dirt cheap and cheaper then my current car even though it's 8 or 9 insurance groups higher? Did they do just an FSi version or the 2.0l?

Reg plate is - CN06 KWY

Appreciated!

Reg plate is - CN06 KWY
Moneysupermarket brings it up as
Quote
VOLKSWAGEN GOLF 2005-2009 Petrol 2.0L Manual 5 doors PLUS GT
Which means it's the GT variant of the Golf Plus.

Definitely not a GTi.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Can't believe that a well known garage is telling porkies! Where do I stand now lol?

Is that just a standard 2.0l?

It may well have been incorrectly recorded on the motor insurance database.

Best thing is run the plate and the VIN through VW (ask them!) and see what they come up with.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Up for 10.5k mate.

I know there's slightly cheaper and nicer but hard to find cheap from a dealer!

Thanks Steve!

Yeah it was a first car got it brand new will actually miss it! It's web for sale for the past 18months and I keep pulling out lol! All set for the GTi though! Time to grow up a little but still have some nice power!

Twingo was far from standard though lol, waste of money but that's part of the mod game I guess!
