lowering the car slightly

hello all,

i want to lower my car slightly to improve the look/handling,

 im going to get walk and new anti roll bars at the same time,

 what would people recomend to lower it on?? and by how much??

 i dont want coilovers as had them on my focus any the comprimised the comfort to much.
its on 17 inch alloys atm, but when my next tyre change is due am going to upgrade to 18s i think

For me 20mm seems to be the ideal compromise. It's relatively subtle, but with the right springs you'll get an improvement in comfort and handling.

As Andrew has said -20mm is a good compromise to retain the comfort and practicality of the stock springs and imo looks just right 
I went for the VWR 20mm springs (AP springs) on mine and for me its absolutely spot-on

Where can you get the AP springs, is there a part number, I'm guessing VWR spray them blue? Thanks

Nothing wrong with Coilovers, if you get cheap ones you prob will ruin the ride, but good ones will give you adjustment for height and stiffness, so shouldnt ruin the ride

i had fk automotive coilovers on so they wernt cheep, i just didnt get on with them and i want a cheeper option for the moment :)

I find FK suspension to be shockingly bad!

My choice would be Eibach or H&R or if you want a full kit look at the Bilstein B12 (this is what I have on my mk5)

Just installed Eibach Sportlines on mine.

Over the moon with them.

Looks good, could you post a pic side on please , its a toss up between the Ap springs or the Eibachs, the Vwr springs lower 20mm all round, as the Eibachs are different?
I guess its as long as its short, as long as it does not create a bouncy ride?

May look slightly lower at the back due to been parked on a hill but not much

And they aren't bouncy either. Quite the opposite.
However the ride is a little firmer- but this is to be expected of course.

The benifits to handling and looks outweigh the increase in firm ride by about 100000%
