parking sensor problem

my parking sensors on my r32 are not working just making a constant beep when in reverse does anybody know what might be wrong

Its not frozen ice by any chance. I've had the same situation on my Honda Civic and driving around did the trick.

ive driven about all day still not fixed itself i have just bought the car but it only came with a 30 day warranty so i want to get any problems fixed by them if there are any ill be scanning it with vag com tonight

Hi, I was wondering what your fix was to this issue as I have the same problem on mine. Cleaned all the sensors but the problem is still there.

I had a paint blister on mine and caused that problem,rubbed it off and Hey Presto all good again

LOL - glad a revived an old thread for that joke to be read once more!

I had a paint blister on one of mine which i picked at to flatten it out. Should I get some sand paper to it to rub it down completely?

lol this problem was fixed when i got the car painted was a bit corrosion on one of the sensors

Hmmm, I have some touch-up paint so could rub it down some more and try to give it another coat to test. I also read that the sensore pulsates on touch to test if its working. Is this the case on the factory fit option?

Just to add to this, I think I know which the bad sensor is now. It seems the comment listed about the sensor pulsating works on the factory fit options too. Put the car in reverse and you ca feel it "ticking" away, and can even hear it if you listen closely. There is one next to the number plate that doesnt do this and wondered if:
a) anyone know the part number (easier to order the right one and change it over when opened up rather than doing it twice)
b) does it require the top part of the bumper to come off too or just the bottom part and reach in to swap over?

Its worth checking with vag-com. I had an intermittent fault also and I could have saved one time bumper removal if I had checked this before doing mine. You can see part number in thread below, there are plenty of sensors on ebay and they are cheap. You need to remove the whole bumper but its dead easy after doing it once. Its like 10mins off and 10mins back on. Just find something soft and big like a blanket to rest the bumper when its off.
