A3 alloys

Anybody got either of these wheels on thier car?  Trying to find a photo of a Mk5 Gti but not having much luck.  The 5 spoke ones are the flat face ones as opposed to the more common RS6 inset ones.

There should be some pics of the Callitos on the MK5 around here somewhere.
In my opinion the guy selling them is asking way too much
I think they are tatty for what he`s asking
A brand new set went for £500 possibly less (just ask Billcor )

Offered me a swap with the CH replicas which Im game for.  I can easily sort the rims myself  .

Decided againts the split rims.  Dont think they would look too good on a Gti.  I am getting the other ones in a swap for some Mk2 Golf bits I have.  Not sure if I put them on or just sell them on though.

^ Fair comment fella.

I've got the split S-Lines (genuine Audi) in 18x7.5J on mine and I love the wheel design themselves, but they look too like the TSI/GT 17" wheels that they put on the late Mk5's so I decided they'll go once refurbed. I think the Callistos also might not do proper justice to a GTI.

They look good on TT's/A6's in 19x8.5J or even that size on some CW MK5's I've seen.

After grabbing those pics just now, I might even scout a 19x8.5 set of reps from eBay for summer or something. They could be had for £450.00 last time I was looking. My next car is highly likely to be 112x5 too so they wouldn't be wasted. Hmmm...

This is it fella, it's a balance of sacrificing the above for excellent appearance
They are the sole few reasons I went for 18x7.5

Iv been thinking of a set of the audi splits myself in 19x8.5 but now I'm sold after seeing those photos!!  

I'm due to have a set of H+R springs going on next week which will drop me by around 30mm, I have my 18x7.5 Omanyts to go back on on 225/40 rubber.

If I decide to go for the splits as a new summer wheel will I be ok with the 30mm drop? and what size tyres could I get away with? Mrs Apollo13 uses the car most of the time and she'll nag the hell out of me if it rubs but she doesnt drive like a maniac into the corners so I can cut things pretty fine!!!

That's what roped me in at first. I had heard a newbie user on the forum briefly comment that they look crap in 18" on a GTI but I chose to ignore him and give them a go. They do look a tiny bit small on the A3's too, but I wanted to experiment - didn't quite come off cosmetically but not to worry, gave my GTI a unique look and something very different to the Monzas & CHs/Pescaras etc...

Regarding the drop mate - Hmm, I'm no expert at all but I'd say with a 30mm drop on 8.5 wheels you may get mild rubbing at the front and probably wouldn't be able to have more than one passenger in the rear before you rubbed there too.

I've got 20mm AP springs all round and the splits are 18x7.5 as mentioned. When on nearly full lock at the front, there's enough room to whisper and that's it. The rear I've got 10mm wheel spacers on the rear axle too and I can comfortably have 5 in the car in total and it won't rub at the rear. It's close, but practical still. Anything lower/any bigger wheels and I'd probably run out of luck.

Do a thread if you want precise advice from the more experienced guys but from my knowledge I'd say you might be struggling and Mrs Apollo will probably start moaning from what you've said  

BTW I need to pick your brains about the 30byte controller if I may please fella!?
