tracerouted from my company looking glass, seems that its possible to reach the amazon gateway in Ireland so seems to be a server issue so I suppose it could be a DDOS type attack, but with the size of the amazon infrastructure (S3) I would be incredibly suprised if someone would be able to manage to kill it for long!
