bigger bar :happy2: and get to the gym ha are you useing are half inch drive socket if so get a stronge arm on it... or if you dont have many tools just extend the ratchet with some pipe and slide it over to make the force greater..

One thing make sure you are actually turning it the right way i seen lots of people swinging on bolts with all there weight and can see them thinking why wont it undo  :signLOL:

Thanks for the reply, trouble is i had the car on axle stands and there really is limited space to try a bigger bar, and yes i am turning it the right way but was questioning myself constantly on this. :signLOL:

Do you need to remove the caliper carriers on a GTi before you can remove the disc?
I thought you could get away with just removing the caliper, then remove the disc retaining screw, then wiggle the disc out.
Anybody know for certain?

Like mentioned before try harder.
Did the discs on my step mums bora no problem...
On my dads caravelle the calipers where torqued on to about 150NM.

so half inch breaker bar, extended by a jack handle did it in the end.

Also may be worth soaking the bolt in WD40, Penetrant spray, Plus gas or similar (be carefull not to contaminate any discs or pads that are going to be used with the said sprays).

Once you bolt starts to move you'll be laughing...until you remeber youve got another 3 to go ;)

Just an update , got the discs changed today, an extension bar and some muscle with the wheel turned out did the trick, also changed the DV whilst i had the disc off drivers side. discs seem good but not really pushed them due to freezing icy roads. will post in a month or 2.

OEM pads From VW £62.28
Brembo Discs  £66.99
