Mine is BXE which is the 105 bhp Tdi engine. In the next couple of months I'm looking to clean out both the EGR and inlet manifold so any advice would be very much appreciated.
Which engine have you got and is it the plastic or metal inlet. They are very easy to remove, but the sludge isnt as easy. Bloody messy stuff.

These are really easy to remove. Just a series of allen bolts to remove. All really easy to see apart from one which you need to remove the egr valve to get to.Scrape as much of the gunk out first, then get some very strong degreasant to get the rest out. Ive soaked them in hot acid baths before, but that still didnt get rid of all the crap.Best to get a new gasket too.
