Is that the DSG oil change and was that at a VW dealer?

Is it basically just an oil change or is there more to it?

From when i had mine done the mechanic told me it was an Oil Change followed by a full reset of the box. This is why it takes them about 2 hours to do as they have to get the oil up to a certain temp, drain it, refill with fresh oil, get it up to a certain temp again then carry out the reset and the sequence of tests they have to do.

I was waiting with they did it, what they didn't tell me when I booked it is that the car needs to be cold before they can start which added on 45mins to my wait time!

I'm just going off what they told me. I spoke to the technician that did it and that was the process he explained unless i mis-understood the first part.

But i'm pretty sure that's what he said as he was talking me through the reset on the box using VCDS.

Here's what is used for the dsg service:
• DSG filter
• DSG O-Ring
• DSG fluid (6 liters)
• OEM Sealing washers

If the box is reset, will it effect boxes that have the Revo software?

They reloaded the ecu back onto the dsg box as I asked but I don't think this is a normal process. So the map should be ok

I got told it had to be cold as well, but TT insists it should be warm so that all the contaminants are in suspension, otherwise you risk leaving it in the gearbox.  Its also not a reset, its a re-adaption of the basic settings, so nothing is done with the map on the DSG ECU it just goes through the process of re-learning the clutch bite points gearchange points etc etc.  So Revo software wont be affected, hence you can do the adaptation yourself with VCDS.

.
Getting my third DSG service done in January at 90k miles. It will be my second DSG service at VWR - It was done as a matter of course when they installed my Quaife diff. I also have Revo's DSG remap.
