R32 rears are vented vs GTI's solid too.

Agreed, S3 is 310 x 22mm, uses the same pads, hoses as the Std rear set up on the GTI.  The caliper is a wider version of the standard GTi version (to take into account the 10mm thicker disc - standard GTI is a 286 x 12mm disc)

Matt, you fail until you do the tin o'veg test!

Best thing I ever bought for that car those brakes, I'd have them every single time.
Sideways yo!

With the Ed 30 Std Pescara they would need a spacer.  The rim shown is a BBS VZ 8.0J with an ET44 offset.  3mm clearance at the caliper face, so no spacers needed.

The disc is actually taller than the Std Gti 312mm disc, so it takes the centre line of the disc closer to the track rod end.

The Standard Ed 30 rim is really restrictive, being 7.5" wide.

.
The FWD Golf does approx 80-85% of braking on the front, I was told by AP Racing. So front brakes are the most important.

As stokeballoon has posted, adding the S3/R32 vented rears noticeably make the whole hard braking experience feel incredibly well planted and stable. You have to completely rethink your braking distances or you then have to get back on the throttle to reach the corner or roundabout!

I'd much rather have powerful brakes and not need them, than need them and not have them. I've only needed them 3 or 4 times in emergency but phew!

Dunno, Ive always run the grooves that way, my understanding is that the direction of the grooves doesnt effect braking performance, its wether the veins are curved or straight that effects cooling?
